Apartment Tour & Blogging Fun!

 Happy Weekend Everyone!! This 4 day week flew by for me - hopefully the same for you all! I worked on the apartment a lot this week and today we got most of our furniture! The biggest part that is missing is our box springs... for some unknown reason, I only got our mattresses today and no box springs. They are *expected* to arrive on Wednesday so let us keep our fingers crossed. Obviously this delays my plan to move in this weekend but oh well! 

I have my apartment tour that I filmed on Wednesday! We have gotten a lot more things in since, but this gives you the gist of the space that we have! :)  

It is slowly but surely coming together! 

 

Last night, I attended an amazing event for The Charlotte Social with other Charlotte area bloggers! I finally got to hang out with Alexa for longer than 10 min [she led me to her amazing hairstylist back a few months ago] and we had a BLAST. I seriously love her! We have so much in common and she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! 

The event was at Apricot Lane in Charlotte - they had such cute clothes and accessories. Would you believe me if I told you I left empty handed? Well... don't because I didn't! Ugh! I have serious shopping problems BUT we were getting a discount and I found such cute things. I will OBVI have a haul video up SOON! :)

Apartment Purchases: The Basics

I promise an apartment tour will be going up soon! My sister and I are still not living there, but we get all of our furniture by Friday so hopefully it will be our first weekend there! I have this vision in my head of what I want our apartment to be - girly and elegant but comfortable at the same time! I am still deciding on accent colors for the living room and my room. Since my bed is white and my furniture is either mirrored or white, I got aqua bedding that I hope will look really cute. For the living room, we are still deciding but I think we will maybe accent with light peach or pink (depending on what we find)!

My Room: I decided against painting my walls because I am unsure of how long we are going to be living there and also - I like the wall color - it is a really pretty light beige that matches with everything. I want to add some art/mirrors for sure! I am so excited about my tufted bed! I have been wanting a tufted bed for YEARS and finally got my wish! We ordered our bed frames from Wayfair Supply - I will definitely let you guys know how the quality is/etc because we got a super amazing deal on them! I ordered my aqua comforter from Overstock - it hasn't even shipped yet, so we will see how it is when I get it! I just felt like doing a pop of color since the rest of my furniture is simple. We also found some really good deals at Value City Furniture and that is where my white dresser is from! The annoying part is that I don't get it until the 22nd of June :( I have been obsessed with the Hayworth collection from Pier One ever since I can remember! I have the jewelry armoire already and knew I wanted to incorporate more of the pieces into my room. I do not think I would like the look of all mirrored furniture so that is why I decided to go with the white dresser and white bookcase. One of the things I am most excited about is having a vanity! I just ordered the table on it's own and I am going to get a separate mirror and chair. I also got the nightstand to go along with it! I ordered the bookcase from Target and thought it would be pretty with picture frames, decorative books, and maybe have a perfume tray on there. Overall - I think my bedroom is going to turn out just the way I had pictured it. I know it won't be perfect for a while, but this will be a good start to my ideal room!

Living Room: I knew I wanted to invest in a good couch because last time that my sister and I had our own place, we had an Ikea couch, and it might as well have been a boulder because it was the MOST uncomfortable piece of crap I have ever sat on. We found our couch at Value City and also ordered an ottoman to go along with it. It is SUPER comfy and I can't wait to relax on the couch with a glass of wine watching real housewives! We also got these mirrored tables from Target! I will also report back on these because they were at an unbelievable price! Our media center is from Overstock and I love how it is white and mirrored at the same time (ideal in my world)! Again, I am not sure what accent colors we will use!

I plan on filming my apartment tour tonight! We won't have any of this until Friday, so I think it would be fun to keep doing apartment updates. I love watching these types of videos and think they are so helpful when decorating your place.

LA + Weekend Recap!

Happy four day work week everyone! I had a great time in LA! I landed back in Charlotte on Sunday evening and caught up on my sleep. Yesterday, my friends Heather and Kennie had a BBQ and then I seriously slept from 9 PM till 7 this morning. So refreshed! :) 

Thursday, my friend Haley and I went to the third st. promenade in Santa Monica - I love the shopping there and they also have the cutest restaurants and cafes there. We did a little bit of shopping and ate an amazing dinner at True Food Kitchen! I tried the cucumber skinny margarita, the tofu and shitake lettuce wraps, the farmers market salad and the shiratake noodles - all were amazing! Friday, we laid out at the pool at the hotel I stayed at (Petit Ermitage) and loved our matching shirts (f21)!

Can't do Cali without a stop at in-n-out! We headed to the drybar (my obsession) and then drove to San Diego and we went out there with Haley's bf Dom and some of his friends! It was so much fun!

Saturday, we headed back to LA and we hit up Bottega Louie for the BEST macarons I have had in a while. SO YUMMY! We also went to go watch the Hangover 3! 

Sunday, I left LA at 1 PM and landed in Charlotte at 8PM (damn you time difference)! Yesterday was BBQ day! Heather and Kennie had amazing southern food at their house!

My week so far!

Happy hump day everyone! Coming to you from sunny southern California this week! I had almost a full day of traveling on Tuesday even thought it was a direct flight from NC to LA - we had to re-route our flight through MEXICO to avoid the bad weather in the middle of the country. Obviously safety comes first, but we were airbound for almost 6 hours instead of the usual four - I might as well be in Europe! LOL! I am here for work, but am staying until Sunday and plan on enjoying this beautiful weather (no southern humidity - that is for SURE!). 

Monday night, we hosted a social for the Latin American Women's Association at Luciano's, a non profit organization that my family and our company is very involved in. They serve as a scholarship fund for Hispanic students and also do a lot for the elementary, middle and high school students in the area with tutoring, dancing programs and much more!

Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had wonderful weekends! I feel like I did ten thousand things this weekend and I felt the need to stay up way past my bedtime last night catching up on The Office (I finally watched the finale and was bawling in my bed at 2 AM - what is wrong with me). I am off to LA tomorrow for work and will be staying until Sunday - I am so excited to be in the beautiful LA weather and hang out with one of my besties - Haley!

Friday afternoon, my sister and I signed our lease for our new apartment! It is going to be a slow move since we have like no furniture - who knew beds take 2 weeks to deliver!? (NOT ME!) On Saturday, we went furniture shopping and ordered our beds, our mattresses, our couch, nightstands, coffee table, and some of our dressers. I will be filming an apartment tour and showing the progress! I started moving in some clothes and little things over the weekend, but I didn't want to move too much since we probably will not be staying there for a few weeks!

Happy Friday + My week so far!

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY! It's here people - I had a jammed packed week. I am currently incapacitated from Zumba on Wednesday - who knew that it would be so intense? I woke up this morning and could not walk (so much jumping!). 

I am SO HAPPY today because today my sister and I get the keys to our new apartment!!! I am SO excited to have my own space, living room, kitchen, etc! I will be sad to leave the beautifulness that is my parent's condo, but it will definitely be worth it. I am going to film an apartment tour and update you all with our decorating process so stay tuned for that! I want to make our space very feminine and elegant but also comfortable at the same time! My cousin and her bf will also be here this weekend and we always have such a fun time with them! 

My favorite salad - mixed organic greens + kale with avocado, mushrooms and fresh mozzarella + EVOO, Splash of red wine vinegar, juice of half a lemon and mrs. dash italian seasoning = TRY IT IT IS SO DELICIOUS!
