Makeup Tutorial: My Everyday Fall Makeup Routine

Hi everybody! I hope you are all having a great week so far and are ready for the Thanksgiving! :) Thanksgiving is probably my second favorite holiday after Christmas. I love spending time with my family, and it officially means that the holiday season is upon us! Can we all pause for a moment and wonder where this year has gone? It is really insane!

I wanted to share a makeup tutorial that I posted on my YouTube channel yesterday. I don't post tutorials often, but I decided to film my everyday makeup routine to share. Watch to see my current favorite products and my current favorite eyeshadow palette - the Lorac Unzipped palette!

Alchemy: the workshop - my favorite salon in Charlotte!

You know how they always say the hardest part about moving cities is finding a new doctor and hair stylist? Well... I AGREE! Especially about the hairdresser part! I remember how sad I was to leave my hair stylist Stephanie who I went to for 4 years while living in Boston. She just GOT me. She understood exactly what I wanted and was always honest. Sine college, I have lived in three different cities and it is honestly really hard to find "the one" - aka your perfect hair stylist. My natural hair color is a dark mousy brown (not cute) and ever since I was 16, I started highlighting my hair. I am meant to be blonde! I have tried dark hair on several occasions and it just doesn't work out for me. I LOVE the look of a dark chocolate brown, but I am a blonde at heart and it has definitely been hard trying to find that perfect shade for me. I don't want to be bleach blonde or white blonde - for me, it's all about the golden blonde.

Once I moved to Charlotte, I started going to the hair stylist my mom knew here. I ended up having him dye it brown and it turned into this not so cute red/purple toned hair that I was NOT happy with . Enter the lovely Alexa (the mastermind behind Southern Living Our Way) - I came across her blog and we started e-mailing back and forth talking about Charlotte. She told me about Taylor, her stylist, and how amazing she was and I decided to give it a try! (THANK you Alexa, I owe you & love you!!) It was love at first sight with Taylor and her amazing boyfriend Kyle - she took me from a redish brown to a golden blonde in a few hours & I knew I had found "the one"! Taylor told me about the salon they were working on opening, and I couldn't wait to see the finished product!

Alchemy: the workshop opened earlier this year, and I can't say enough amazing things about their salon. Not only is the staff the most friendliest and sweetest people I have ever come across, but their salon is unlike any other. It is a true experience every time you go and you get pampered from the moment you step in until you walk out the door. Taylor is incredible. She isn't 25 yet and she opened her own freakin salon - how amazing is that? Not to mention - she is probably the sweetest person I have ever met. She is a Paul Mitchell educator so all of the salon uses PM products which I have grown to love since knowing Taylor & Kyle!

Taylor & Kyle - love them & the finished product! :)

Miami & Weekend Recap

Hi my loves! I hope you all had lovely weekends and ready to start a fresh new week. It's a beautiful fall day here in Charlotte & good weather always puts me in a good mood :) I was in Miami for most of last week and had a relaxing productive weekend. I have a lot going on work wise and I am also applying to grad school at the moment so bear with me during these next few crazy months. Sometimes I go MIA, but you can always find me on Instagram

I was in Miami for work and it is one of my favorite places to go for market visits. We always stay in Coral Gables because that is where most of our meetings tend to be, and it is such a cute town! The weather was amazing, and the food was incredible. I am a total seafood and sushi lover and Miami has the BEST of both. We had fabulous meals at Sushi Samba (Coral Gables) & Mr. Yum as well [my mouth is watering thinking about it]. It was a short 2 night trip, but we had some great meetings!

Friday was back to work and I FINALLY had time to get my hair done! My roots were so bad, but Taylor & Kyle from Alchemy: the workshop worked their hair magic on me & I am happier than ever with my hair color - stay tuned for a full review on my favorite salon in Charlotte this week!! :)

Out to dinner in Miami: Blazer: Trouve (on sale!) | Shirt: Nasty Gal (old - but they have a similar) | Shorts: Forever 21 | Booties: Shoemint | Purse: Tory Burch | Necklace: Foli Foli

Saturday was spent studying and writing essays! Yesterday was chill as well with more grad school work, and a short trip to the mall. I ended up getting some goodies from the Chanel & Giorgio Armani counter (haul will be up soon of course!) & then had dinner with my parents at their place. I hadn't seen them in a month and it was too long!

Casual Sunday Outfit: Cardigan: Nordstrom BP | T-shirt: J.Crew | Leggings: Zella Live in Leggings | Boots: Tory Burch Bristol Boots in Black (on sale!!)

Shop Now: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

Happy Wednesday everybody! Writing from Miami, FL today as I am here for work for a few days. The weather is still warm although rainy, but I am glad to be missing the random cold front that NC got today! I wanted to remind you all of the amazing sale that Nordstrom is currently having!

I always try to get a few staple pieces during this time. I know I say this a lot, but Nordstrom is my absolute favorite store. They have the BEST return policy and customer service, and I am a huge fan. So far, I only picked up a couple of items since I had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet, but I am definitely eying a lot of other things!

This grey Trove blazer I bought in store & I am IN LOVE with it! Such a great versatile piece to wear to work with dresses, pants, and skirts. It also looks super cute over a basic t-shirt and skinny jeans and boots. At $60 it is really a steal for how many times you would wear it. I think it runs pretty TTS if not a little big (I got the Medium for reference).

I placed the heels order online, so I am not sure if I am in love yet, but I have been looking for a classic pair of pointed toed heels. These are by Sam Edleman and reduced to $88 - great deal! I also like how it is a suede and leather combo. I can see these going great with basically anything! Definitely a classic.

Here are some of the other options I am eying - such great things on sale!

Happy Shopping!

Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations + Haul!

Hello my lovelies!! Today marks the beginning of the Sephora VIB sale! The sale is for everyone who is a VIB (all you have to do is sign up on their website) and you are able to get 20% off from now until the 11th! Use code VIBTOPIA to get 20% your entire purchase - seriously such an amazing deal! I recommend stocking up on skincare and makeup items that are hard to find on a discount. I placed an order a few weeks back during the F&F sale that Sephora had and wanted to share what I had purchased and my thoughts since I have already been using most of them! Also - an October beauty favorites video will be up hopefully by tomorrow or latest by Monday!
I already made my "big" purchase during the F&F sale and I am glad I did because two of the items I bought have already sold out!

The happiest of packages :)

Lorac Unzipped Palette ($40) - unfortunately this amazing palette is now OOS on the Sephora website! The last time that I went into the store, I noticed that they had stopped selling Lorac, so your best bet might be at Ulta - I also found it online at Nordstrom  - I really can't tell you how GORGEOUS this palette is in person. It is rare to see a palette where every single shade is wearable. I highly recommend this palette to anyone - even if you already have the nakeds - it is totally worth it. I love the packaging as well - not too flimsy, but still thin enough to travel with. I have used this every single day since it was delivered and I am in love!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($58) - another sold out item on the Sephora site (sorry!) but this is another product I have been loving. These HOURGLASS powders get rave reviews in the beauty community, so when I saw this palette, I knew I had to have it. I found the palette online at Barney's, but you may also have luck finding it in store. These powders are gorgeous. They are not your typical highlighter - they do not have the shimmery effect as say a MAC MSF would have, but these provide a beautiful glow to the skin. The darkest color looks gorgeous over bronzer! The other two I have used as a highlight and they look beautiful as well! Definitely snatch this up while you still can!

The rest of the items were pretty basic - the Josie Maran Argan Balm (been loving), one of my favorite go-to perfumes: Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck, and a new face wash: Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash $21 (& frothy it is - love it!)

These are some of my favorite items and picks from Sephora! Let me know if you have questions or need any recommendations!

Happy Shopping!

Miami Recap!

Happy Wednesday loves! Hope you are all having a great week so far. I wanted to share some pictures from my weekend trip to Miami! I had so much fun with my sister and the weather was incredibly beautiful! We were able to hang on the beach all of Saturday and it was AMAZING.

We got on Friday night and went to dinner at the amazing Katsuya at the SLS Hotel in South Beach. I have eaten at the Katsuya in LA before, and it was amazing in South Beach as well. We were in love with the shisito peppers and the amazing rock shrimp! We then went to Hyde at the hotel as well - such a beautiful lounge!

 photo MIAMIONE_zps63f2ee08.png

Saturday was so much fun! We had brunch, laid on the beach & relaxed! At night, we headed to LIV to see Nervo - it was amazing! Such a great concert! I took horrible pics and didn't even take an outfit pic (blogging fail - I know!). Sunday, we ate at Sushi Samba (had more peppers), walked around Lincoln Road, and had a little Sunday funday action! Our flight was really delayed so we did not get back till past midnight!

I highly recommend Miami this time of year! It was GORGEOUS weather and not really crowded! I will actually be back there next week for work, but hope to be able to enjoy the weather again! :)

Products I Have Used Up: Empties #3

Hi everyone! First of all - HAPPY NOVEMBER! Second of all - Happy Friday! I hope you all have fun weekends planned! I am off to Miami later today with my sister for a girls trip! I am so excited! The weather is going to be gorgeous - who knew Miami was 90 degrees in November? I have never been to Miami for fun - just for work, so I can't wait to explore South Beach!

I have a new video to share! Another installment of my Products I Have Used Up videos. I basically show you my trash, but as weird as it sounds, these are my favorite types of videos to watch. Being a beauty lover and having more products that I should, it is always satisfying to actually finish any beauty product. These were items I finished up in the last few months - let me know if you guys like these types of videos and as always any requests! :)

I hope you have all have a great weekend! :)
