Not sure how we are all going to make it through this 5 day work week, but there's always wine right? Not for me though. I have been sticking to my diet and only indulging in wine a couple of nights per week (trying to be good) ((TRYING)). I hope you all had a great weekend - mine was actually perfect! Relaxing & got everything that I needed done - DONE!
So - today is my first day linking up with the lovely Sam and Leeann for the Weekend Update blog hop! I have been meaning to start linking up with them for a while and what better time than now? Check both of these ladies out if you haven't before - they both have incredibly funny and amazing blogs that I read daily!
My dad was here for a couple of days over the weekend & that usually means him spoiling us with nice dinners. Since we are on our clean eating plan - our choices are limited in restaurants but that doesn't mean you can't find something delicious & appropriate to eat at almost every restaurant! On Friday night, we convinced my dad to take us to this new Asian fusion restaurant AZN that recently opened near Southpark. I think it has some of the freshest sashimi I have ever tasted! My dad and I also shared the Japanese Ceviche which had yellowtail, octopus, and avocado - it was delicious!
Saturday morning, my sister and I went for our first outside run of the year. I really need to work on my breathing. Ever since I have had surgery on my nose, I have a hard time with running outside and breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth. It wasn't as bad as I imagined - we ran 2.5 miles in a neighborhood close by to our condo in 30 minutes, but I almost passed out after! I will definitely be having a little bit of protein before our run next time. I am going to try running one of these mornings since when I get out of work, it is already pitch black!
Saturday afternoon, we finally saw LES MIS! I had been dying to see this movie since Christmas but had not found the time to. I am in love with the movie - I think everyone did a great job! I hate it when people criticize other actors - I thought Russel Crowe was a really great Javert - do NOT hate on him - he has an Oscar and you do not. His acting was incredible. I cannot tell you how amazing Hugh Jackman was - HE IS VALJEAN! I loved Eddie Redmayne as Marius too - I know some people had a problem with his voice but I thought he was great and his Empty Chairs at Empty Tables brought me to tears. As a fan of the broadway show, it was so exciting to see a play I love so much become alive on the big screen! I was as excited as when watching the harry potter movies for the first time!! (yes I am a nerd.) I definitely want to go see it again in theaters soon! (soundtrack on repeat!!)
comfy saturday movies outfit! Brandy Melville Cardigan, Bebe Leggings, Random old f21 shirt, & f21 shoes (old)
We ended up having dinner at CPK which was A-OK with me since I LOVE the roasted vegetable salad there! I got it with no sundried tomatoes and with grilled salmon on top. I also skipped the dressing and added hot sauce instead! So good! Seriously - anything with artichokes is right up my alley.. I should probably learn how to make that at home!
Yesterday, I took my sister to the huge mall Concord Mills where they have this HUGE f21! It is so overwhelming, so while she was trying on clothes for an hour, I hit up both the Nike outlet and the VS semi-annual sale!
Got all of this for $100! The bras are AWESOME. I love them way more than the lululemon ones that I have. And they were on sale for only $23 each! I got the other 2 jackets for running outside and for going to flywheel classes.
I also picked up these goodies from VS as well as some new undies! (50% off)
After we got back, we worked out at our gym and then we made a yummy light dinner of grilled tilapia and garlic green beans and mushrooms!
This is an extremely easy meal to make! We just season the tilapia in mrs. dash lemon pepper & then grill it in very little extra virgin olive oil.
For the garlic veggies - steam the green beans while you saute mushrooms in a pan with some extra virgin olive oil & then add freshly chopped garlic to the pan and then add the green beans once they are done steaming - I promise they are DELICIOUS!
Have a great week everyone!!
love me some VS and some good food!!! and super healthy- i need to be better about that...
