Life Update: Dallas, Atlanta, weekend!

Hi guys! Life has been NUTS lately, and I hate to be neglecting my blog, but time has just not allowed it lately! September is my heavy travel month as well as our busiest time at work with three large-scale festivals we put on. Last week, I headed to Dallas and Atlanta, and got back to Charlotte on Friday! I drove to Atlanta on Tuesday because we decided to fly out of the ATL airport to save money. I grew up in Atlanta so I am totally familiar with it. However, I guess I have been spoiled with the beautiful Charlotte airport - the ATL airport is HELL on earth. To make matters worse, we flew Spirit airways. I had never flown them before and ratchet doesn't even begin to describe the state of this airplane and airline. NEVER AGAIN. I HATE not having wifi. It's 2013. TIME TO HAVE WIFI ON ALL PLANES! Rant over. We got to dallas safe and sound, which is the most important thing after all :) 

I have only been to Dallas a couple of times, but every time I go, I want to go back! I love the vibe there! I got to see my friend Courtney and we had a great time catching up! She took me to Victor Tangos and then Black Friar for drinks after (have the summer beer)! Loved both places! We flew back to Atlanta on Thursday and then had meetings on Friday morning before driving back to Charlotte! My weekend was pretty much uneventful & Sunday we had our Mexican Independence Day Festival in Greensboro, NC! Great turnout as always!

This week I am concentrating on getting everything at work settled and fitting in sessions with my trainer. I have been slacking a bit in the gym department and need to get my ass kicked. I had my first session in over a week yesterday and damn - I AM SORE! No pain, no gain. I leave on Friday night to spend the weekend in Connecticut for one of my best friend's housewarming parties! So excited to see my best friends again!

Weekend Re-Cap: Charlotte Fashion Week & El Grito!

Happy Monday everyone! Ever have one of those fake weekends where you feel like Friday went directly to Sunday? TOTALLY me today! I had a work event all day Saturday and all day Sunday too! However, I did get to fit in a few non-work related activities on Friday. I was invited to attend Charlotte Fashion Week's Friday night event, and we had amazing seats to the emerging designers fashion show! It was great to meet even more bloggers and experience a live fashion show.

I was super impressed with all of the collections. It was easy to get lost in the magic of it all, and I found it hard to believe that I was in North Carolina!

Last week I got the sweetest package from my friend Stacey from Five Minute Style! She made me this adorable frame and sent me some cute hair ties - all the way from the UK! Love that girl :) - Stephani and I at Charlotte Fashion Week - With my family at Luciano's on Friday night - NHRA race on Saturday for work - the baby Chloe is staying with us again! 



Sunday was our company's huge event celebrating Mexican Independence Day - El Grito! It was our biggest event to date and it was just great overall!

September & October are our busiest months at work - apart from it being Hispanic Heritage Month - it is also planning season for agencies so I am always heavy traveling during this time as well! I am off to Dallas and Atlanta tomorrow and have another Grito event on Sunday in Greensboro! Busy busy, but as always - keep up with me on my instagram! I also wanted to let you all know that my blog will be undergoing a make-over - not only in looks, but also in NAME! Yes it is, Kevin started back in 2009 and I never thought it would evolve into anything but a hobby. As time as passed and as my YouTube channel has grown, I have wanted to make my brand for a while now. Keep your eyes peeled for that! :)

Happy Friday & a Fall Fashion Haul!

Happy Friday everyone! Surprisingly, these week went by super fast - getting back into work mode and just being super busy in general tends to do that to me. Our company puts on three large-scale Hispanic Heritage events during Hispanic Heritage Month and our first one is this Sunday! This Sunday is El Grito - or Mexican Independence Day! Most people think that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico's Independence day, but it is not! It is a very patriotic event perfect for the whole family & we usually average around 15-20 thousand people! It is definitely one of the coolest events we put on.

I have a lot going on this weekend! I am attending Charlotte Fashion Week again tonight and am so excited! You can follow along via my Instagram and Twitter! 

I did a bit of shopping these past two weeks - Fall is BY FAR my favorite season for clothes, and I filmed a haul video showing the goods I picked up! :)

Charlotte Fashion Week: Kickoff Party!

One of the most fun things about blogging is getting to meet other bloggers and making new friends - and it is extra fun when you get to go to amazing events with said people :) I am a part of the Charlotte Social which is a group of Charlotte-area bloggers that get together about once a month doing different activities! Definitely check it out if you are a Charlotte blogger - all of the events I have gone to have been a blast! Last week, I got an email with an invitation to Charlotte Fashion Week, and yesterday was the kick-off party! I got to hang out with the lovely girls Bre (Basically Bre) and Molly (Stilettos and Diapers) and we had so much fun talking and taking in the beautiful scenery around us. I can't wait for Friday's fashion show!

It was definitely a great night! Due to work and fitting in my trainer this week after being out of town for so long, the only other event I can make it to is Friday, but I am so excited! :)

I'm Back!

My past two weeks have been an absolute whirlwind - new york for work and then I spent the last week and a half in DC. As emotionally draining as last week was, I am feeling positive and refreshed. Both of my best friends have been so strong and inspirational, and I am just blessed to have them in my life. These experiences definitely help take life into perspective, and you realize that your little problems are really very insignificant. I consider myself a positive person, but I am going to try to be even more positive in every situation. 

Back to real life this week - SO. MUCH. WORK, getting my workouts in with my trainer and focusing on my diet, and some fun events for Charlotte Fashion Week! (keep up with me on instagram to see the pics/videos I will be posting)

Checking In

Hello loves! I wanted to share a quick update letting you all know why I have been MIA. I have been in DC since Friday helping my best friends, Sonia and Monica, deal with the passing of their amazing, loving, strong, beautiful and inspiring mother. It has been very hard watching my best friends go through something so horrible. It is in these moments that you realize what the real important things in life are. I will probably not be blogging and uploading any videos until next week. Just wanted to check in xoxo
